Oakwood Car park

Draft Local Plan

Enfield Station Car Park – SA URB 22

The Draft Local Plan calls for the closure of the car park at Oakwood tube station and the building of 52 dwellings on that site.

Should you wish to object to this, please consider using some of the points below.

Please bear in mind the following:

- Objections should be entered on the Council’s web site https://www.enfield.gov.uk/services/planning/new-enfield-local-plan

- Download the form under “Responding to the consultation” and when complete, (you will need to input your name and address) send it to the Council at [email protected]

- You should respond in box 4B that you consider the plan to be not sound

- Objections can only be made in the period 28 March – 20 May. Objections outside of this period will not be considered

- Please use your own words when stating your objections

- Please encourage your friends, family and neighbours to do the same

You could make any of the following points:

- the proposal to close the car park is inconsistent with the Local Plan’s promotion of sustainable transport

- as this is the only street to train level access station between Cockfosters and Finsbury Park, this will have a huge impact on those with mobility issues

- provision of a few more disabled bays will not compensate for the loss of places in the main car park

- cars will be displaced into neighbouring streets, aggravating parking issues for local residents and adding to emission levels in residential areas as drivers look for parking spaces

- closing the car park will have an adverse impact on a listed landmark

- the proposed building of housing “blocks” will be unsightly and detract from the listed building

- the proposal represents an inconvenience to the travelling public across a wide swathe of Enfield and beyond

- the proposed development of 52 dwellings will increase housing density in the area, with no additional provision for services

Thank you for your help. Do contact us if we can be of assistance in any way.
